Our History
A Locally Owned Company Built on Good Work
Sambuilt was founded in Victoria, BC in 2000 with a simple idea: that residential construction doesn't have to be stressful, confusing, or full of surprises. We set out to build a company where homeowners felt informed, respected, and genuinely supported from the first conversation to the final walkthrough.
Over 25 years we've completed more than 200 projects across Greater Victoria — custom homes in Fairfield and Oak Bay, renovations in Saanich and Langford, and everything in between. Our company has grown steadily because our clients refer us to their neighbours, friends, and family.
We hold BC Builder's License and carry full liability insurance and WorkSafeBC coverage. We sponsor apprentice tradespeople, support local suppliers wherever possible, and build with energy efficiency as a priority — not an afterthought.
Sambuilt is not the biggest construction company in Victoria, and that's intentional. We work on a manageable number of projects at a time so that every client gets the attention their home deserves.

Meet the Owner
Grant Parbery
Sam has been building and renovating homes in Victoria since the late 1990s, and founded Sambuilt in 2000 after years working under some of the city's most respected general contractors. He holds a BC Builder's License and brings a hands-on approach to every project Sambuilt takes on.
What separates Sam is his commitment to being present — not just in the early planning stages, but throughout the build. He visits job sites daily, stays in direct contact with clients, and holds every member of the crew to the same standard of care he would apply himself.
Outside of work, Sam is deeply invested in Victoria's trades community. He actively mentors apprentices through the local training program and advocates for sustainable building practices across the industry.
